Chomley House

As a reimagining of a classic Edwardian home, Chomley House represents improvement through restoration and redesign. From the street perspective, the heritage facade is preserved and fits the surrounding environment. Inside, Chomley House is transformed into a two-bedroom home featuring open plan design and a sunlit courtyard.

As an extension to a historical Edwardian family home, the design of Chomley House looks to enhance the classic structure from a modern viewpoint. By focusing on clean lines and a neutral palette, this family home feels fresh and more open. The extension also allows for the addition of more communal spaces like a theatre room and study, as well as creating a more open living room with direct access to the sunlit courtyard.

From the street perspective, the historical facade remains in place and ensures a sense of continuity with neighbouring properties. Additionally, the cool tones and subtle accents of the front entry update the exterior without compromising the original features. Chomley House is an ideal example of repurposing the structure of the family home without losing its character.
