From here a large landscaped courtyard is revealed around which the house has been arranged. The courtyard has been carefully placed to maximise northern light into the house which would otherwise shadow its own backyard as a result of its north-side aspect.
The material palette further compliments the restrained placement of form, with a charred timber cladding and polished concrete render chosen for their neutral colours and rich textures. On the street facing facade the charred timber cladding combines two timber profiles to seamlessly transition from cladding to privacy screen. This simplicity in form and materials creates a home which sits confidently in its leafy context while providing a spacious and private lifestyle for its occupants.
