Cera Stribley is partnering with Homes for Homes and donating a percentage of our turnover this year to the initiative. The initiative helps increase the supply of social and affordable housing across Australia and, according to the National Operations Manager for Homes for Homes, Tracy Longo, has, so far, granted more than $1.14 million in funding to 10 social and affordable housing projects, which will house 53 people. It has granted funds in Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory and, for the first time ever, will grant funds in the Northern Territory and Queensland from 2022.
Rather than providing a one-off donation, Homes for Homes is linked to the sale of a property. Property owners register their home with the organisation, so when they sell, 0.1% of the sale price is donated to the initiative. These funds are then pooled and granted to community housing providers in the relevant state or territory and help boost the supply of social and affordable housing in that community.
Having worked on social housing, Principal of Cera Stribley, Chris Stribley, understands firsthand the difficulties in the funding and delivery of these projects. Cera Stribley is proud to be a part of Homes for Homes’ mission to bridge the gaps in these areas and provide social and affordable housing across the state.
